A Trip to Remember
From Waleska Santana:
In June my son, Kelian, and I had the incredible opportunity to visit Colombia, a country that truly captivated us with its breathtaking landscapes, towering mountains, and stunning beaches. We explored Cali, the island of San Andrés, and Medellín, and each destination had its own unique charm and story to tell.
From the vibrant culture to the delicious food (and yes, ice cream shops on nearly every corner - this coming from a true ice cream lover!), Colombia had something special at every turn. The crystal-clear waters of San Andrés revealed the ocean’s endless shades of blue and gave us the unforgettable experience of swimming in what felt like a live aquarium.
In Cali, we were honored to attend a beautiful quinceañera celebration with friends, and Medellín welcomed us with panoramic mountain views and shopping malls that seemed to go on forever.
If I could offer one piece of advice: travel light! With an incredible array of local shops, handmade goods, and high-quality leather items, I found myself making space in my luggage and leaving behind things I brought from the U.S. - the shopping was that good.
Most importantly, this trip gave my son the chance to explore a new country and add another stamp to his passport, while I got the gift of seeing a whole new world through his eyes.
If you’re thinking about visiting Colombia, don’t hesitate! It’s a trip you won’t forget.
