Melissa Silverio

Corporate

Tell us a little bit about your current position here at Lexitas.

I'm a Training and Content Specialist. I'm excited to join our amazing training team and assist in live trainings and resource creation.

What kinds of jobs and industries did you work in before you started at Lexitas?

In my previous role, I was a Corporate Trainer for a large organization that provided corporate and legal solutions. I was the most senior trainer on the Business Licensing and Insurance team while also onboarding new hires. Before that, I was a high school social studies teacher.

What aspects of Lexitas that excite you the most, and why?

I love learning and I love the work I do, so I'm excited to learn a new industry and help the organization. I also love meeting new people and helping them adopt new concepts.

In my personal life, my partner is a litigator, so I'm excited to be able to understand even more of his work (and maybe contribute a bit more in conversations with our lawyer friends!)

Would you rather have your dishes or clothes be magically clean?

Could I change the option to be to have my clothes magically folded and put away? Right now, they get clean... and then accumulate as a mountain in my laundry room.

Would you rather cook or order in?

I'd rather my partner cook. His food is better than any restaurant I've been to.

What is your favorite TV show?

I'm more of a movie lover than a TV lover, but I've recently been hooked on the new Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show. I grew up watching America's Next Top Model, so it was an easy transition!

What are some of your hobbies or favorite activities?

Outside of work, I love live music, festivals, and the great outdoors. I go camping and hiking whenever I can. I love the beach—I'm from the Jersey Shore and grew up going all the time.

I love hanging out with my 3 cats, Edgar, Reese, and Sophie. I've also been practicing yoga for 4 years.

What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?

I would say I'm most excited to travel... A LOT!

You would receive a million dollars, but every time you sneeze, you teleport somewhere random in the world. Would you take the million dollars?

Absolutely not taking the money!

What reality or game T.V. show would you like to most to be on?

I'm definitely not someone who would ever be interested in being on TV now, but as a kid I really wanted to be on Legends of the Hidden Temple, even though I was terrified of the temple guards. Go Blue Barracudas!

St. Louis Reporting

Tell us a little bit about your current position here at Lexitas.

I am the main face at the STL office when clients, vendors and the lost come in. Clients are greeted and are escorted to their rooms for mediations, depositions. I keep the conference rooms (10) stocked up with supplies and cleaned. I can’t always get to the one upstairs; I have help with those - so thank you (you know who you are). I also keep the snack/coffee bar stocked and cleaned for the clients, staff and some vendors that will partake in the snacks and drinks. I help send out invoices for the Billing Department. I am the person who gets to update or make the Standing Orders for the firms and affiliates, with manager approval first. I assist with court memos and get them sent out weekly/bi-weekly. Oh, and I answer the phone for the  STL/TN offices.

What kinds of jobs and industries did you work in before you started at Lexitas?

First jobs were daycare, second was Ponderosa, third was at an Assisted Living facility. After that I have been in the legal field at the front desk for a law firm and then here, which will be eight years in January. Thanks, Luci!

What are some of the biggest life lessons you've learned while working at Lexitas?

First impressions matter, right? When you have a client coming in that’s nervous about the day ahead, they may not come off in the right way. Give them a bit, and they generally get less nervous and will talk your ear off.

Also, not everything is so serious, even in the legal world.

What aspects of Lexitas that excite you the most, and why?

Getting to see and meet new people every day, also getting to see your regulars and get to catch up with them.

What advice would you offer to other Lexitas team members?

Communication is the best way to keep things moving smoothly.

How do you relax after a hard day of work?

Go home and hang out with my kids and my husband.

If you had to wear one color for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Green.

What was your favorite age growing up?

9/10.

What's the best movie you've seen recently?

With littles at my house, it’s probably going to be Minecraft the Movie.

What kind of music do you like?

Almost all genres. Top band/singer are Breaking Benjamin/George Straight. There are so much more but don’t want to overwhelm everyone.

AARON ALEXANDER

Love.

If you could only eat 1 food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
