Texas Rodeo
February and March in Houston means rodeo time!
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo always pulls a large crowd. It runs almost an entire month!
It boasts of the Bar-b-Que cook-off and Contest, along with the Horticulture events, Live Stock shows, Auctions and Sales, Judging, and Concerts by world famous performers, the Carnival and the rides, and the RODEO itself, which includes Bronco Bustin’, a Calf Scramble, and Mutton Bustin’. It is a thrill for all who attend!
It began as the Houston “Fat Stock” show in the 1930’s! Later it was held at the world-famous ASTRODOME, and many famous people entertained there! (including Elvis Presley and Selena!) Their website lists they are the “ world's largest event of its kind since 1932” We always start off the Rodeo season off with a“ Go-Texan Day”.
